TV Usage
This document provides an overview of the TV-specific functionality and benefits of JubileeTV to the TV End User. To see how the TV End User interacts with various Features of JubileeTV, see the documents in the Features section.
The TV End User interacts with the JubileeTV remote and the JubileeTV console to make their TV watching experience as seamless as possible.
It all starts with the JubileeTV Home Screen. On the Home Screen, the TV End User has the option to "watch TV" (i.e. use their source devices) or interact with the features of JubileeTV.
Below is an overview of the tiles on the Home Screen:
Tile | Description |
---|---|
Watch "___" | This tile will always be in the top left of the Home Screen. The tile is dynamic in that when you select it, the most recent source device that you used will be loaded. So, if the last source device being used was a cable/satellite set top box, then the cable/satellite signal will be loaded. If you only have one source device, this tile will always say the same thing. |
Favorites | In the Favorites tile, the TV End User will have access to all of their devices (if they have more than one). Additionally, any channel or app favorites that have been added by or for the TV End User will appear here. |
Contacts | The Contacts tile lists all of the Contacts that have been invited to use JubileeTV with the TV End User. Within this tile is where the TV End User can send/see messages and start a video call with Contacts. |
Weather | The Weather tile shows the current and forecasted weather for the zip code/city where the JubileeTV Console is installed. |
Photos | The Photos tile shows all of the photos that have been sent to the TV End User from Contacts. |
Videos | The Videos tile shows all of the videos that have been sent to the TV End user from Contacts. |
The JubileeTV remote is equipped with voice control. By simply pressing and holding the large, orange microphone button on the remote, the TV End User can control the TV and source devices with words and not button presses.
Below are some examples of voice commands that can be used:
Command | Notes |
---|---|
"Volume up" "Volume down" | Turns the volume up/down by 1 click |
"Mute" | Mutes the TV speakers |
"channel 3" | Tunes to the channel number for a cable/satellite set top box. Any channel number can be used. |
"CNN" "HGTV" "TBS" "NBC" | Tunes to the channel name on the cable/satellite set top box. Any channel name can be used. |
"Roku" "DVD player" | Switches the source device to show the requested one. |
"Contacts" "Weather" "Photos" "Videos" | Loads the associated JubileeTV feature on the TV. For example, saying "Photos" will show all of the photos that have been sent to the TV End User by Contacts |
"Slideshow" "Screensaver" | Starts a slideshow of all of the Photos that have been sent to the TV End User |
"Netflix" "Amazon Prime Video" "Hulu" | Loads the named app on Roku. Note that a Roku must be setup as a source device for this to work. |
