Source Devices
A Source Device is a device that connects to the JubileeTV, such as a cable/satellite set top box or streaming player. The JubileeTV Console requires at least one source device, but supports up to three.
When setting up the JubileeTV Console, you will select device profiles for each of your source devices. This informs the JubileeTV Console about the devices you are using, allowing you to control them with the JubileeTV remote.
Category | Examples |
---|---|
DVD/Blu-ray player | |

The JubileeTV remote is a universal remote — this means you can use the JubileeTV remote to control all of your devices. In general, the JubileeTV remote can control any device that you are already controlling with a remote.
Worried about if JubileeTV will work for you? Controlling many types of devices across various brands is a challenging feat, however JubileeTV supports over 4,000 devices (including source devices and TVs). Chances are, JubileeTV will be able to control your source device and your TV. If you'd like advice on your specific environment, please contact our Support Team.
There are multiple ways that source devices are controlled by their remote or the JubileeTV Console.
IR Control Infrared (IR) is a type of light used by TV remote controls to communicate with a TV. This is by far the most popular method of device control. When you use the remote that came with your TV, it most likely is using IR.
IP Control Certain devices, such as Roku, can be controlled via IP (or Internet Protocol). This means that the JubileeTV Console is controlling the Roku by connecting to it over a local network. If you are using a Roku and want to be able to utilize the enhanced functionality of Roku with JubileeTV, your Roku must be setup with IP control.
CEC Control CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is a method of controlling devices by using the HDMI protocol and technology. The JubileeTV Console very rarely uses CEC to control your TV or source devices.
