Managing Camera and Microphone Privacy on the JubileeTV Console
2 min
Overview
JubileeTV takes privacy seriously. Ultimate control over camera and microphone access rests directly on the physical JubileeTV Console.
Microphone Privacy
Audio capture can be managed using the physical microphone switch on the side of the JubileeTV Console. When the microphone is successfully turned off, a red background will be exposed next to the switch.
- How it works: Switching this toggle off disables both the console microphone and the JubileeTV remote microphone.
- Two-Way Calls: The microphone only activates during interactive features like Video CallingVideo Calling, Family Story sessions, and Telescope Talk ModeTelescope Talk Mode. It automatically turns off the exact moment your session ends.
- One-Way Features: When the switch is toggled off, no audio is captured during one-way features like Telescope Listen ModeTelescope Listen Mode and Drop InDrop In.
- Activity Feed: Because the Activity FeedActivity Feed only captures pictures, it never records audio regardless of whether the microphone switch is turned on or off.
Camera Privacy
Video capture can be managed using the built-in physical camera cover on the front of the JubileeTV Console.
- How it works: Slide the physical shutter closed to completely block the camera lens.
- App User Experience: Connected family members can still use camera-dependent features like Video CallingVideo Calls, Drop InDrop In, Activity FeedActivity Feed, Family Stories, and Moments. These features continue to function normally, but any live video feeds or captured images will simply display as a black screen on the app user's end.
- Peace of Mind: The physical shutter guarantees that video cannot be captured, providing absolute control over visual privacy.
