Mic Boost
Overview
The Mic Boost feature increases the sensitivity of the JubileeTV Console microphone, making the TV End User's voice louder and easier to hear.
This feature is designed for use when you are having trouble hearing the user during the following activities:
- Video Calls
- Drop In sessions
- Telescope Talk Mode
- Creating a Family Story
Mic Boost can be set to Off, Medium, or High.
Limitations
Console Mic Only: Mic Boost applies strictly to the main JubileeTV Console microphone. It is not available for the voice remote microphone.
Session-Based Adjustments: While the Primary Admin and Admins can set the default starting microphone (console vs. remote) from Hub SettingsHub Settings, App Users can only manually adjust the Mic Boost itself during an active session.
How to Turn On Mic Boost
Adjusting Mic Boost differs slightly depending on the feature you are currently using.
For Video Calls, Drop In, and Family Stories
During a video calls, Drop In, or Family Story sessions, do the following:
- Tap the TV-mic icon (pictured below) in the bottom left corner of the screen (Note: This icon reacts to noise picked up from the TV side. As noise increases, the dots expand vertically.)
- Ensure Console Mic is selected.
- Select either Medium or High under the Mic Boost options.
For Telescope Talk Mode
- Start Talk Mode by selecting the mic icon in the top right corner of the Communicate section.
- Tap the more icon (⋯) to open Talk Mode Settings.
- Tap your current setting (Off, Medium, or High) next to Mic Boost to open the adjustment menu.
- Select your preferred Mic Boost level.
