JubileeTV allows App Users to share photos and videos from their devices directly to the TV. This feature is designed to keep families connected by displaying memories on the biggest screen in the home.

# Permissions for Photos & Videos

# Interactive Mode

In Interactive Mode, the TV User can engage with content using the JubileeTV remote. This article first covers how photos and videos operates in Interactive Mode. [Passive Mode Features and Limitations](https://docs.getjubileetv.com/photos-and-videos#passive-mode) are covered in the last section.

## How to send photos and videos

App Users can send media via two methods:

### Photos & Videos Tile

1. Tap the **Photos & Videos** tile on the App home screen.
2. Select the **Photos** or **Videos** tab.
3. Tap **Send Photos** or **Send Video** and follow the prompts.

- *Note: Currently, videos can only be sent from mobile devices.*

### Messages

1. If messaging is enabled within [TV Interface Settings](docId\:RZv16uA-EOknMRqVLozmL), open the **Message** tab on the App home screen.
2. Select the **Photo** or **Video** icon in the bottom left of the chat thread to share media.

## How to view media on the TV

Content can be triggered from the app or accessed manually from the TV:

- **From the TV:** Press the **J** button on the remote and select the **Photos** or **Videos** tile.
- **From the App (Telescope):** Open **Telescope**, select the **Actions** tab, and choose **Photos** or **Videos** under "JubileeTV Destinations."

## Notifications on the TV

Notifications alert the TV User when new content arrives. This behavior changes based on your **Photos & Videos Notifications** setting within **[TV Interface Settings](docId\:RZv16uA-EOknMRqVLozmL)**:

- **If Notifications are ON: **A pop-up appears on the TV. The TV User can select **View **(opens the message thread to see the media) or **Dismiss** (hides the pop-up). Dismissed items are marked with a notification badge on the **Contacts > \[Sender Name] > Message **tile.
- **If Notifications are OFF:** No alert appears. The **Photos** or **Videos **tiles on the TV home screen will show a numeric badge indicating unseen items.
- **If Messaging is Disabled:** Notifications are automatically forced **OFF**. New media will only be indicated by badges on the home screen **Photos** and/or **Videos** tile.

## The Slideshow

JubileeTV can automatically rotate through shared photos in a slideshow format.

### How to Start the Slideshow

- **Auto-Play:** The slideshow starts automatically if the TV remains inactive on a JubileeTV screen (e.g, the JubileeTV home screen) for 10 minutes.
- **Manual (TV):** Select the **Photos** tile from the TV home screen and click the **Slideshow** button (top left).
- **Manual (App):** Use **Telescope**, go to the **Actions** tab, and select **Start Slideshow**.

### Managing Slideshow Photos

By default, every shared photo is added to the slideshow.

- **From the App:** Open the **Photos & Videos** tile. Tap the **green check mark** on an individual photo to remove it from the slideshow (it will remain in the library). Tap again to re-add it.
- **From the TV:** In the **Photos** library, use the **green check button** to add a photo or the **red X button** to remove it from the rotation.

### Slideshow Settings

You can easily adjust the slideshow speed by changing how long each photo stays on the screen.

1. **Open Photos & Videos: **From the App home screen, select the **Photos & Videos** tile.
2. **Open Settings: **Tap the **gear icon** in the top right corner.
3. **Navigate to Photo & Video Settings: **Select **Photo & Video Settings** from the menu.
4. **Adjust the Timer: **Choose your preferred photo duration from the **Timer** dropdown menu.

## Managing and Deleting Content

- **Adding:** Any App User can add media.
- **Deleting:**
 - **Admins/Primary Admins** can delete any photo or video in the library.
 - **Contacts** can only delete the content they personally uploaded.
- **Access:** Manage the library via the **Photos & Videos** tab on the App home screen.

# Passive Mode: Features & Limitations

If the system is in a **Passive Mode **(related article: **[JubileeTV Usage Modes](docId\:vc_Oz1fVLHxIwevdS3ilq)**), the experience is simplified for the TV User:

- **Sending:** Because messaging is disabled, media must be sent via the **Photos & Videos** tile in the App.
- **Viewing:** Content can only be displayed on the TV by an App User via **Telescope**. The TV User cannot navigate to the library on their own.
- **Notifications:** No on-screen notifications or alerts are shown.
- **Slideshow:** Can only be started/managed via the App and Telescope.
