# Overview

While JubileeTV does not have a standalone setting to automatically turn the TV on, you can easily accomplish this using the **[Reminders](docId\:eEoR90WJ0C4Z8c_CTs-Ws)** feature.

By setting up a scheduled Reminder and selecting the right optional behaviors, you can have the TV turn on at the exact same time every day (or on any custom schedule).

# Who can do this?

Primary Admins, Contact Admins, and Contacts with the "Set Reminders" permission can create and edit Reminders from the JubileeTV App.

## How to Set Up an Auto-On Reminder

The key to making this work is the **Optional Behaviors** step during the setup process. Whichever type of Reminder you choose below, you must select **Turn on TV** to ensure the TV turns on when the Reminder triggers.

Choose the method below that best fits your loved one's needs:

### Option 1: Create a Simple Reminder

- **Best for:** Simply turning the TV on. 
- **How it works:** The TV turns on and resumes the exact channel or app your loved one was watching when it was last turned off. Your message appears at the center of the screen and must be dismissed before they can start watching.

1. **Open Reminders: **Tap the **Reminders** card on the JubileeTV App home screen.
2. **Create a New Reminder: **Select **Create Personal Reminder**.
3. **Choose Reminder Type: **Select **Simple Reminder** and follow the on-screen prompts to set your message, time, and repeating schedule.
4. **Select Turn on TV: **When you reach the *Optional Behaviors *screen, check the box for **Turn on TV**.
5. **Create Reminder: **Follow the on-screen prompts to finish creating your Reminder.

### Option 2: Create a 15-Second Reminder with Automated Action

- **Best for:** Turning the TV on *and *automatically changing to a specific channel (e.g., automatically turning on the morning news at 8:00 AM).
- **How it works:** The TV turns on and displays your message. After 15 seconds, it automatically tunes to the specific channel you chose during setup.

1. **Open Reminders: **Tap the **Reminders** card on the JubileeTV App home screen.
2. **Create a New Reminder: **Select **Create Personal Reminder**.
3. **Choose Reminder Type: **Select **15-Second Automated Action **and follow the prompts to choose the target channel, schedule, and message.
4. **Select Turn on TV: **When you reach the *Optional Behaviors *screen, check the box for **Turn on TV**.
5. **Create Reminder: **Follow the on-screen prompts to finish creating your Reminder.
